Dr. Knox is often presented as an expert psychologist on various local and national television and radio programs such as “Perspectives” (Fox50), “Upfront With Jessie Jackson”, The Santida Jackson Show (1690 AM). Dr. Knox is currently the “Resident Psychologist” and “Web Doctor” for the magazine entitled “GIRLFRIENDS Health Guide for EVERYDAY Women”.
She has also been featured as a contributing author in “UMOJA” magazine. She is the author of “The Use of Media by African American Women to Acquire Mental Health Knowledge” (2006). Dr. Knox is a motivating, humorous, and energetic public speaker. She provides trainings as well as educational workshops for community and corporate programs throughout the United States. Many local, regional and national organizations have benefited from her services.
Dr. Lia A. Knox currently resides in Chicago, Illinois. She is a currently employed at Lawndale Christian Health Center as a Behavorial Health Consultant.Dr. Lia A. Knox has dedicated her career to providing quality mental health care to underserved populations. She is a strong advocate of women’s wellness and minority mental health. Born and raised in the inner city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she is proud to be an advocate for those who exhibit resilience and courage in the harsh face of adversity.
Dr. Knox received her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She received her Master’s degree in Counseling Education from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin and her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi.
