GREETINGS Girlfriends! I am so excited to be able to bring you ladies tips about makeup & skincare that’s relevant to us. I am the founder of Faces of Destiny Makeup Artistry here in Milwaukee, WI & I am also a soon to be licensed esthetician (skin care specialist) as well. I am very passionate about these two areas because women are bombarded daily with so much information in the media and are constantly seeking new ways to treat and maintain their skin. After all it is a good indicator of one’s internal & mental wellbeing.
I have been in the beauty industry as a makeup artist for over 4 years & have been blessed with a natural talent to know what looks good especially on women of color. I have also researched & worked with many makeup lines; not saying that I know it all but I do know a great deal about ingredients as well as the effects that it has on the skin. As a studying esthetics student, I have been able to study the skin in detail to know how it works, what may effect it, how to make it look its best, skincare product knowledge, stress & nutrition factors, and when to let a person know it’s time to seek the counsel of a dermatologist.
I am here to answer questions, keep you updated on the latest trends, hear your makeup & skincare stories & empower you with the knowledge to make the best decisions concerning your skin to the best of my ability. I am honored to take on this project and look forward to building a lasting relationship with my BFF.
-Girlfriends.
Remember the show from the early to mid 1990’s, “In Living Color”? It was a sketch comedy show that launched the careers of some of your favorite celebrities. Do you remember how the show began? Was it the opening credits with the lively theme song or was it the bright bold colors of paint that splashed across the screen that grabbed your attention? If so, guess what? That’s exactly what this summer’s makeup color scheme is this year! COLOR, COLOR, COLOR!!
The brighter, the better! I’m not talking about your average pastel shades of pink and yellow. I’m talking about bright, bold hot pink and oranges for your lips. Bold blues, yellows, pinks, oranges and greens for your eyes and even pink for your blush to create a refreshing lively look to tap into your youthfulness.
Even as I sit here and relay this trend news to you, my nails are the brightest shade of yellow that seem to be a conversation piece everywhere I go. This season is no time to be bashful about anything! Color changes mood and the bolder the color the more your mood will be uplifted as well as those around you.
Not sure about what shade will best suit you? Head to your local MAC, Bare Escentuals, Smashbox, Sephora or other makeup counters to browse through the wide array of colors they have to offer. Remember makeup isn’t meant to change who you are or how you look, but to enhance what you already have. Why not be daring and do it IN LIVING COLOR?!
Until next time ladies!
