Did you ever wish you had a swimming pool when you were little?

I know I did, but it was too expensive and too cold where I grew up to have one.  One day, my sisters and I got creative.  We decided to make an indoor swimming pool in our kitchen.  I don't know who came up with the idea; let's just say it was my older sister.  It began in the afternoon, while our Mom was at work.  We sealed the doors with towels, then filled and spilled bucket after bucket onto the kitchen floor. It didn't take long before there was enough water, about 4", to start playing. We already had our bathing suits on so we were ready to go. We moved all the chairs off the floor and started sliding.  When the water got too low, we poured more. (I don't know why we didn't just hook up a hose to the kitchen sink and let the water run; chalk that up to youth.) We had so much fun splashing around and even took breaks to eat little snacks off the kitchen counter.  By the time we were bored with our "make-shift" swimming pool it was almost night time. We knew Mom would be home soon so we started cleaning.  We opened the kitchen door and the water flowed out the entrance of the house. Mom says she found water all the way to the driveway when she got home.  I can't begin to explain the look on her face when she walked into the kitchen. Needless to say, she didn't find our adventure very funny.  My sisters and I love to tell the story, and after all these years, even Mom sees the humor in it.
